My Visit to a Place of Historical Interest
During the last autumn vacation, I got the opportunity to visit Bagerhat, a great historical place. Mazar Khan Jahan Ali is a fine one-storied building. It has a beautiful dome. Khan Jahan Ali was buried there. The grave is made of cut stones. There is a small mosque nearby.
A close associate of Khan Jahan Ali was buried outside the tomb. On the night of the full moon of the month of Chaitra, a big fair is held next to the Mazar. Many people attend the fair. There is a large tank in front of Mazar. Local people call it Dighi Khan Jahan Ali.
There are several crocodiles in this large tank. I also visited the Shat Gambuj Mosque. It is a big and beautiful building. The mosque is beautifully decorated. The mosque is a major attraction for tourists and visitors. There is a large dighi near the Shat Gambuj mosque. This dighi is called Ghoradighi.
I visited this Dighi and learned many things about the social work of Khan Jahan Ali. Bagerhat is indeed a historically interesting place. I spent eight hours there and saw many historical things and had fun. I left Bagerhat, but the memory still haunts me.
